Aloo ka Bharta

Aloo ka Bharta is a beloved North Indian dish, featuring mashed potatoes infused with aromatic spices like cumin, coriander, turmeric, and garam masala. What You’ll need :


Potato 1/2 kg

Onion 2 medium

Tomato 3/4

Oil 1/2 cup

Curry leaves on 5/6

Green chili 2/3

Fresh coriander 2 tbsp

Salt to taste

Turmeric 1/4 tsp

Red chili powder 1/2 tbsp

Whole red chili 4/5

Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp

Crush chili 1 tbsp

Roasted & crush coriander 1tbsp

Roasted & crushed cumin 1 tbsp



Boil & mashed potatoes.

Add oil and saute cumin seeds, red whole chilies, and curry leaves in a preheated pan for a few seconds.

Now add chopped onions, and green chili & saute for a minute on medium heat. Add chopped tomatoes, salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and crushed red chili, crush coriander & crush cumin, and cook until oil separates. Then add 1/4 cup water.

Add boiled and mashed potatoes accordingly. -Stir and cook on medium heat to mix up all ingredients. Add freshly chopped green coriander and mix well.

Now the delicious aloo bharta is ready to serve.
